“Started in Italy doing jazz festivals in the summer in 1979, but the Reading Festival the same year, with the Scorpions, was more appealing. Worked with a variety of magazines in Italy, Ciao 2001 and HM Magazine the most prestigious, but also in the UK after I moved to London where whenever one of my photos hit the cover of Kerrang or Sounds it was party time. On the pop side, InRock in Japan has been my home since 1992. It got me close to everyone from George Michael to Taylor Swift. Have worked with Dio, Judas Priest, Slayer, Motorhead, Scorpions and, to this day, Iron Maiden – which means still loving every minute of it.”

May 1985, Hear ‘n Aid recording on Stars at A&M studios in Hollywood. Hear ‘n Aid was a heavy metal charity record organized by Dio. I sat outside chatting with Rob in the courtyard where there was this big warning sign behind us that “called” for photos. He obliged without a problem.
