Frank Zappa (1940-1993) was an iconic American musician, composer, and maverick cultural figure whose boundary-pushing work defied categorization. Born in Baltimore, Zappa rose to prominence as the leader of the avant-garde rock band The Mothers of Invention in the 1960s. Renowned for his virtuosic guitar skills, Zappa’s eclectic and experimental approach to music incorporated elements of rock, jazz, classical, and electronic genres. A fearless and trailblazing critic of societal norms and a staunch advocate for artistic freedom, Zappa produced over 60 albums in his lifetime, showcasing his wit and musical genius and left an enduring mark on the music world.
