About Creepy & Eerie
Creepy was an American comics anthology launched by Warren Publishing in 1964, in which each horror story was introduced by Uncle Creepy. Eerie magazine, created in 1966, had its own host โ Cousin Eerie. Jim Warren, the publisher, explained, โWe thought Creepy ought to have an adversary. Creepy and Eerie are like Boris Karloff and Peter Lorre.โ Both magazines featured the top writers and artists in the industry and refused to carry the restrictive seal of the Comics Code Authority.
